The New York Skyline

The New York Skyline

Love is all around in the Big Apple, from a horse-drawn carriage rides through Central Park to Eskimo kisses on the ice rink at the Rockefeller Center.  You should add some edge to your romance with a downtown Manhattan adventure with a trip to SoHo, and to the Meatpacking District for a romantic stroll along the neighborhood’s unique elevated park called the High Line. Book a table at a fine restaurant in the city and order some wine. Get tickets for a Broadway show with sign language interpreters or captions. Indulge your fantasies at the Ace Hotel to put you in the mood for love. Order room service, crack open a bottle of champagne and hang up the Do Not Disturb sign.  Rose petals on the bed are entirely optional.

Chicago Skyline

Chicago Skyline

Despite the hustle and bustle of the Windy City, believe it or not, Chicago is surprisingly a romantic place for lovebirds.  Plan a romantic getaway with your sweetheart, as the weather will be perfect for you to cuddle in soft sweaters or walk hand-in-hand in the crisp winter air.  Intimate restaurants abound where you and your sweetheart share an elegant meal. Picture yourselves in each other’s arms looking out from the Willis Tower (Sears) on the Chicago Skydeck as you take in the spectacular Chicago skyline while the sun sets.  Dress up in the 20’s and go to this Deaf event, the Great Gatsby Party hosted by WSAD (West Suburban Association of the Deaf) on February 14th at the Swoboda Deaf Centre. As a foreplay, spend your evening at the party, flirt with your valentine sweetheart, pretend you just met, chat, dance and tease the night away. Slip away from the party back to your room at The Talbott Hotel, one of the luxurious hotels in Chicago.

There’s a reason everyone leaves his or her heart in San Francisco: It’s pretty easy to fall in love with the world’s most romantic city.  Share the unforgettable sight of the massive Golden Gate Bridge day or night with your Valentine. Add some action to your romance with a day trip to the Napa and Sonoma wineries for some wine and chocolate. Or spend your day at the famous California Academy of Science.  It is the only place on Earth with an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and a 4-story rainforest all under one roof!  Dine at the famous Deaf-owned pizzeria, Mozzeria, at Guerrero Street.  They have a wine list.  You can also bring your own wine bought from your wine tour and pay a corkage fee.  Stay one or two nights at The St. Regis San Francisco Hotel, in the SoMa, picked up from the airport upon your arrival by Uber, a transportation provider that will be a Deaf driver.
