If you want to experience an event designed by and for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing people that stimulates all of the senses, Sencity will provide you with a truly unique experience. Sencity provides a party environment that makes music accessible through innovative, sensory elements. Through the use of music, a sensefloor (vibrating dance floor), dancers and sign dancers, “feel the music suit,” light jockey, visual jockey, food jockey, aroma jockey, hairdressers, visagie (makeup artist), and massages, Sencity goes beyond hearing the music. It is also possible to see, feel, taste, and smell the music, creating a fun night for Deaf and hearing people.
Sencity was established in 2003 by the Skyway Foundation in the Netherlands. Since its inception, Sencity events have been hosted in countries throughout the world including, South Africa, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Finland. The event is planned by Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing individuals who aim to bring people together to share the experience of music.
The next Sencity event will take place in Rotterdam, Holland, on May 25. This is a special celebration for the tenth anniversary of Sencity called the Sencity Rotterdam Tenniversary. The Sencity Tenniversary is for those 16 years and older. Tickets are € 17.50 in advanced or € 20 at the door.
