If you have a passion for snowboarding/skiing, be sure to attend the 2013 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. Colorado’s Buttermilk Mountain has hosted this event consecutively for over a decade, and showcases extreme skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling competitions. The events include Ski Big Air, Ski Slopestyle, Ski SuperPipe, Snowboard Big Air, Snowboard Slopestyle, Snowboard SuperPipe, Snowboard Street, and five snowmobiling events: Adaptive, Best Trick, Freestyle, SnoCross, and Speed & Style. Famous and talented winter athletes from around the world will compete for medals and prize money including Shawn White, Kelly Clark, and Hannah Teter.
For those of you who would like to attend the X Games and socialize with other Deaf individuals from around the country, register for the X Games All Access package provided through the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This package is $350, which includes access to view the X Games, skiing/snowboarding passes, nightly parties, a visit to the hot springs, bonfire, hot chocolate bar, and transportation between the airport, and to and from the Aspen Camp.
